We talked about corporations who are supporting wind energy as a part of their

business plan to increase their profits.  The falsity of Renewable Energy Credits and more.

Miriam Raftery, an award winning environmental journalist, joined Harley and Lisa to talk about this and more.

“For those who believe it’s unconscionable for Governor Jerry Brown to speak of “crushing the opposition” to industrial wind and other massive energy projects that are hurting people’s health, destroying our environment, wildlife, and Native American cultural resources, please contact:

John Burton, California Democratic Party Chairman
john@cadem.org (916) 442-5707

Also Gov. Brown (916) 445-2841 . You can send an email through the online page at http://www.govnews.ca.gov/

Urge Chairman Burton and Gov. Brown to meet with victims of wind projects in San Diego and Imperial Counties, along with journalist Miriam Raftery to learn more about the predatory nature of the big energy companies that are preying on low-income communities and causing massive and irreversible damage to our public lands. Ask both to change the policies of the Democratic Party and California so that in meeting goals for renewable energy, priority shall be given to clean energy sources with the least negative impact on the environment, human health, wildlife, scenic views, Native American cultural resources, and the use and enjoyment of our public lands by all. If we are to subsidize anything, it should be rooftop and parking lot solar–not projects that result in blasting tops of mountains and bulldozing thousands of acres of desert. Then marring our scenic areas with power lines bring power from remote locations, as is being done on many so-called “green” projects. It’s time to pull the plug on industrial wind and industrial solar projects that are unsafe, unsightly and unreliable–and instead support solar in the already built environment, where the power is ultimately used.”

Jimmy Salamone from Fairfield, NY has been living with turbines that have been found out of compliance with noise regulations.  He and his wife along with many of his neighbors are complaining of ill effects.

Iberdrola sent him a white noise machine and has installed special Noise Reducing Software on the turbines to mitigate the problem. Jimmy joined us later in the program to talk about the situation.

Don’t miss his story.
